More about Concrete

Choosing what type of MPA you require:

MPa is the metric unit for pressure or stress called megapascal (MPa). The term is used in concrete as the common unit for compressive strength.

We can supply products ranging from 20 to 50 MPa compressive strength at 28 days - please feel free to enquire for pricing for differing MPa to those available in the drop down box

Concrete Slumps

Concrete slump is a term used to  determine how wet or dry you require the concrete to turn up to site. 80 slump is a standard slump and most used next to 100 slump which is a wetter/runnier mix. Then you have your reduced line products designed to go through smaller concrete hoses for tighter excessed areas. There is also a range of high slump products at the 120 slump range to suit other uses.

20 MPa and 25 MPa

Commonly used for house slabs, driveways, footings and footpaths.

Any concreted area for vehicle use MUST start from 25mpa to maintain structural integrity, and a better cosmetic appearance over time.

32 MPa, 40 MPa, 50 MPa

Higher strength is commonly used for concrete that will experience greater loads and traffic., vertical walls, swimming pools etc This may be specified by engineers or builders to suit the load requirements which the concrete must support during its life.

SPECIAL CLASS CONCRETE

Block fill

7 mm and 10 mm flowable product ranging from 20 to 40 MPa compressive strength at 28 days - a range of concrete types to suit pump's is available upon request

Panel Mixes

Panel mixes are also available on request starting from 32mpa

Exposed Aggregate Blends

Exposed Aggregate Blends are traditionally used for external areas like driveways and pathways. They are made up from 10mm single or multiple color stones to make a cosmetic looking product. The mix itself has a higher ratio of stone to produce a colorful look , and these blends start only from 25mpa up. These same mixes can also be used for honed and  polishing for internal/external areas which will start from 32mpa
